libastro-fits-cfitsio-perl software package provides Perl extension for using the cfitsio library, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libastro-fits-cfitsio-perl
libastro-fits-cfitsio-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libastro-fits-cfitsio-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libastro-fits-cfitsio-perl *
You will get with libastro-fits-cfitsio-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
